Your financial gift is the currency of your commitment to a better world. Please help sustain our core programs such as the Safehouse, which provided 8,784 nights of safe shelter to more than 394 women and children in 2009.

There are many ways to be the difference:

• Join the Safe Nights Society monthly giving club to shelter and empower survivors by selecting one of these gift amounts:

$1,125 per month = Supports 365 Safe Nights of Shelter for women and children at TESSA (based on approx. cost of $37 per night of shelter) 
$93 per month = 30 Safe Nights of Shelter for a woman or her child 
$22 per month = 7 Safe Nights of Shelter for a woman or her child 
$XX per month – choose an amount that is affordable for your family to help other families. Any gift to our Safe Nights Society helps sustain basic needs such as shelter, food and supportive services for victims of domestic violence.  

• Make a one-time contribution at a level commensurate with your commitment to survivors.
  
• Consider leaving a legacy to end domestic violence and sexual assault in our community by putting TESSA in your will. 
  
• Use your company’s matching gift program. Contact your workplace Human Resources or Accounting department and ask if they will consider matching your contribution.

Other ways to give:

Contribute gift cards from local retailers (Target, Safeway, etc.). They play a critical role for families on the road to independence.

Donate city bus passes to help victims get to work, court and other key agencies.

Donate your old cell phone to be a safety net for a victim. We program it to 911 emergency use only, or we “part it out” at a local recycler, using the money we gain from salvage to fund programs like our 24-hour crisis line and counseling services. Click here to learn more about cell phone donation.

In-kind items:

TESSA has limited space and staff resources to process the many generous donations of in-kind goods about which we receive inquiries.  We DO need full-size (not trial-size) deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, mouthwash, toothpaste and other personal care items.  We also need diapers, baby wipes and other new baby supplies.  

Although, we cannot accept most donations of furniture, used clothing or used appliances.  We do partner with local organizations who can take these gifts in TESSA's name. TESSA clients can receive vouchers for the Episcopal Women's Thrift Store, Dress for Success,  One Nation Walking Together and Goodwill.
