Students at Manitou Springs High school hosted the Movers for Moms drive in collaboration with Two Men and a Truck moving company. The drive collected important items to donate to women and children in TESSA's safehouse for Mother's Day 2012. Thanks so much to the student organizers, to Two Men and a Truck of Colorado Springs, and to everyone who donated!
TESSA hosted a Cell Phone Drive at the Whole Foods on North Academy Boulevard on January 28th. We collected numerous cell phones and got to talk to many community members about TESSA's work and mission.
TESSA hosted its annual Silent Witness event downtown at the Pioneers Museum on October 7th. This event commemorates and honors the lives of those killed by domestic violence in the Pikes Peak Region, and validates and supports the survivors who continue to move forward with their healing journeys.
Activist Bob Votruba is bicycling and riding his bus across the country to raise awareness about domestic violence as part of his "One Million Acts of Kindness" campaign. He visited TESSA in September.
