You are the DIFFERENCE
Your gift counts!
Click here to make an online financial gift that provides immediate shelter for victims, builds a brighter future for survivors and creates a safer community for all families.
There are many ways to be the difference. We support survivors through your financial gifts – Your dollar is the currency of your commitment to a better world. Your donation sustains our core programs such as the Safehouse that provided over 9,000 nights of safe shelter to more than 410 women and children last year. Please go to our on-line gift form and do what is right for you:
- Make a one-time contribution
- Pledge a gift for 3 or more years
- Join the 1977 Society or Leadership Circle through an annual pledge
- Include TESSA in your will and start building your legacy today
Your company’s matching gift program – Contact your workplace Human Resources or Accounting department and ask if they will consider matching your contribution.
Grocery and retail store gift cards – Gift cards play a critical role for families on the journey to independence and self-sufficiency as they escape from their abuser.
Donated city bus tickets – Bus passes and tickets help victims get to work, court and other key agencies.
Used cell phones – Your old cell phone is a safety net for a victim. We program it to 911 emergency use only, or we “part it out” at a local recycler, using the money we gain from salvage to fund programs like our 24-hour crisis line and counseling services. Please click here for more information.
Empty ink and tonor cardidges - TESSA teams with Empties 4 for Cash to recycle used ink and donor cartridges delivered to our office. We receive cash in exchange for recyling your used cartridges. For more on how this program works, please visit their website at http://www.empties4cash.com/
TESSA is a proud partner agency during this year's Indy Give Campaign. If you want to contribute, donate there!
TESSA has limited space and staff resources to process the many generous donations of in-kind goods about which we receive inquiries. We are always in need of full-size (not trial-size) deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, mouthwash, toothpaste and other personal care items. We also need diapers, baby wipes and other new baby supplies.
Currently, the Safehouse is in need of pots and pans, silverware, serving utensils, and dishes. Please contact Jody Petry at 785-6811 if you would like to donate any of these items.
However, we cannot accept most donations of furniture, used clothing or used appliances. We do partner with local organizations who can take these gifts in TESSA's name, such as the Episcopal Women's Thrift Store, Dress for Success, One Nation Walking Together and Goodwill. Goodwill and TESSA have partnered to offer vouchers to TESSA clients to get the items they need. For more information about Goodwill please call 471-4483.
We thank you for your gift and hope to help you find a way to have it used in the community! Please call us for more information, as there are certain exceptions.
Please call (719) 785-6808 to discuss monetary or legacy gifts or 719-785-6811 to arrange in-kind gifts. Gifts can be mailed to TESSA at P.O. Box 2662, Colorado Springs, CO 80901.
The Gay & Lesbian Fund for Colorado has made a generous sponsorship and challenge grant to TESSA. New donors will have their gift matched $1 for $1, and increased contributions will be matched $.50 on $1. Choose one of these important projects that could use your EXTRA gift today:
