TESSA Internships

TESSA offers both clinical and general internship opportunities for students seeking meaningful, hands on experience within a survivor centered nonprofit organization. Internship roles vary depending on the area of study, program needs, and season, and all interns receive appropriate training, supervision, and ongoing support throughout their placement. Opportunities are thoughtfully matched to ensure a strong fit for both the intern and the organization. As part of the process for working with our organization, you will be required to complete two background checks through a third-party provider, including a TRAILS check required by the State of Colorado. Both background checks require a nonrefundable processing fee which is approximately $70 total. Clinical Internship Opportunities

TESSA offers clinical internship opportunities for graduate level students pursuing degrees in counseling, social work, psychology, or related fields. Clinical interns work under the supervision of licensed professionals and gain hands on experience providing trauma informed services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and human trafficking. Interns may support individual or group counseling services and develop skills in crisis response, ethical practice, and survivor centered care. These internships are structured to meet academic requirements while offering meaningful exposure to community based clinical work.

General Internship Opportunities

TESSA also offers general internship opportunities for students interested in nonprofit work, community engagement, and survivor advocacy. General interns support the organization in a variety of ways that may shift depending on the season, current programs, and community events. This can include assisting with events and fundraisers, supporting donation and organizational efforts, helping with outreach or administrative projects, and contributing to the overall functioning of the agency. These internships are flexible by design and provide valuable insight into the day to day operations of a mission driven nonprofit.
